Continuing Education

Lecture at Saint Paul

Saint Paul School of Theology recognizes that education for leadership in the ministry of the church is a life-long process.

Saint Paul has developed a program of continuing education to provide learning opportunities for both clergy and laity. These opportunities are offered through lectures open to the public, selected courses taught by Saint Paul faculty, and special events.

Invitation to Visit Class, Fridays, Fall 2011
Church of the Resurrection
Saint Paul School of Theology and UM Church of the Resurrection have joined forces to offer a course that centers on the ministry programs at COR. Each Friday, the course focuses on a different ministry area: e.g., preaching, Congregational Care, Missions, Worship, etc. Most of the time we meet at Saint Paul, but on a couple occasions, we will travel to the Leawood campus of Resurrection.

You are welcome to drop in to the class sessions at your convenience. But we only have room for 3 visitors at a time, so we request that you contact Dr. Martin to reserve your space by email robert.martin@spst.edu.

There is no cost; it is completely free as a service to you from the seminary and Resurrection.
Continuing Education Courses

Courses available for continuing education credits within the master's level curriculum appear coded "CEU" on course schedules for each term.* One continuing education unit (CEU) is earned per semester hour of the course. For example, a three-semester-hour master's level course generates 3.0 CEUs. The tuition rate for continuing education credit in 2011-2012 is $175 per credit hour.

Individuals who would like to pursue continuing education opportunities at Saint Paul are welcome to contact the Admissions Office (see below) for further information. Persons enrolling for continuing education credits must attend all class sessions and complete the assigned readings to receive credit. Continuing education credits are not transferrable to any graduate degree program. All fees associated with continuing education credits are due in full to the Business Office two weeks prior to the first day of the term.

*Degree-seeking students have registration priority. Enrollment limits may apply. Doctor of Ministry courses are not available for continuing education credit.
